I feel like I’m always playing tourist in my own city and I couldn’t be happier about it! I’ve lived in LA my entire life, yet I feel like living here is a constant adventure. There are always so many new and exciting things to do here.. And when you feel like you need to leave the city life behind for a day or two, there are endless places you can make a quick escape to in less than an hour! The greater LA area is filled with so many cool little towns and beautiful beachside communities that always make you feel like you’re some place new. If you’re looking for something more local, an adventure in the city, we have amazing hikes in the mountains with the most stunning city views, palm-tree lined streets, and amazing places to eat every kind of cuisine, from sushi to Ethiopian food!

My favorite days are when I have a little break in my work schedule and have time to cruise through the city with my boyfriend, taking in the sites, and trying out new restaurants! On this day we decided to explore Hancock Park and Koreatown! Lately we’ve been really into homes and architecture, and Hancock Park has some of the most beautiful and charming old but renovated homes, nestled between the most beautiful palm tree lined streets in the city! Sometimes we like to drive through and pick out our future dream homes!

A trip to Koreatown wouldn’t be complete without the Bunshop! This is one of my favorite little hole-in-the-wall restaurants that boasts the best buns in town, and I have to agree! Their Kalbi buns are my fav!

Koreatown is pretty casual, but still has a super hip vibe to it, so I decided to go for an edgy meets feminine look! I fell in love with this denim skirt on Farfetch. I love the light wash, distressed finish and most of all the silver mesh inserts that add the perfect amount of edge! I paired it with this off-shoulder ruffle blouse (also from Farfetch) to help balance out the look. I wanted to keep my outfit feeling sweet rather than too grungy and this top was the perfect match! I’m all about mixing edgy and feminine pieces that are still true to my personal style :)

Hollywood Sign through Palm Trees in Los AngelesI can never get enough of this view!! Something about driving down these streets is so freeing and makes me feel lucky to call this my home ♥

Jessi Malay wearing Farfetch in Los AngelesLove how the metal detailing in this skirt adds a fun and unexpected element to my outfit! I really wanted to keep the focus of this look on the skirt, so I love that this top has subtle feminine details that don’t overpower the overall look! And the silver-toned hardware and crocodile embossed leather on my classic white Saint Laurent bag compliment the skirt perfectly!

Jessi Malay wearing FarfetchTo finish off this look, I accessorized with these gorgeous earrings I found on Farfetch by Eshvi. Love the unique detailing on these..the blue gem stones compliment any skintone and are super chic! I love wearing silver jewelry because it’s always so flattering and can easily be adapted to any style.

Jessi Malay wearing Farfetch at The Bun ShopSaved the best part of my day for last!! Don’t let the exterior decor fool you..this is one of Koreatown’s hidden gems! My pick?? The signature Beefy bun aka the Kalbi, with a side of edamame and deep fried oreos for dessert! And it gets better..the dessert is topped with green tea ice cream, caramel drizzle and whip cream..seriously too good to be true!!

Hope you loves take a day to be tourists in your own city too!! And if you’ve been to LA before, what are your favorite spots? Any hidden gems I should know about? Let me know in the comments below :)

Xxo, Jessi
