1 | Zimmermann
Zimmermann has always been one of my favorite Aussie brands and does romantic, feminine and flirty like no other! As you guys know, I’ve been obsessed with Zimmermann for years and have always felt like their pieces suit me perfectly. I remember wearing my first Zimmermann piece, a pretty floral backless playsuit to her SS16 Fashion Show in NY. Last year, I changed it up and wore these amazing blush wide-leg trousers to her SS17 show! This season was inspired by the 60s and 70s, specifically photos from a small beachside strip in Australia called the ‘Gold Coast’. The entire collection was beyond beautiful, think gorgeous ruffles, romantic florals, delicate lace, off-shoulder silhouettes and pops of color that remind you of the sunny beach and vacation.
2 | Naeem Khan
Naeem Khan is one for the drama!! This season, Naeem Khan took his Spring/Summer 2018 collection to a whole new level drawing inspiring from the iconic Russian Ballerina, Anna Pavlova. The entire collection was super feminine, with bold statements like ballerina-inspired tutu skirts, embroidered gowns, and sheer body-hugging dresses and bodysuits. The models walked the runways with pretty floral crowns, silver face jewelry, and ballet-slipper ribbons around their heels.
3 | Cushnie Et Ochs
This season Cushnie and Ohs made a point to evolve past their signature modern structured, body-con dresses and make an entire collection using Frida Kahlo as their muse. Every detail of the collection was reminiscent of Frida Khalo, a woman who was tough and expressive, yet soft and feminine. Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs incorporated elements of bold, vibrant prints and embellishments with their usual modern and urban feminine aesthetic. Some looks featured loud florals splashed onto sexy slip dresses with high slits while others embraced their signature aesthetic showing pretty soft and feminine ruffled jumpsuits and dresses. The color palette ranged from neutrals and whites to bright oranges, yellows and florals reminiscent of Frida Khalo’s vibrant use of color throughout her career.
4 | Ulla Johnson
Ulla Johnson killed the runway for her Spring 2018 collection. Think sheer layers, ruffles, romantic florals, off-shoulder silhouettes and lots of clean whites and blush tones (my personal fave). This collection has been one of my absolute favorites from her. This season was all about finding a new aesthetic between her usual bohemian style and mixing it it with more feminine silhouettes that are tailored and shapely. My absolute favorite pieces from her collection were the shaggy handmade sweaters (pictured on the far left) and the crochet white fringe dress (pictured above).
5 | Sally Lapointe
Sally LaPointe is known for her serious attention to detail which caught the eye of her supermodel clients, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. She takes embellishments to a whole new level. I’m talking intricate and sparkly hand-embellishments on everything from evening gowns to her signature fur-lined sweaters. But this season, LaPointe made a point in creating a collection that was more simplistic and direct. A collection that heavily relied on clean monochromatic looks, relaxed silhouettes and weightless silver jumpsuits and wrap dresses. The show started off with her minimalistic silhouettes; relaxed trousers and matching tops in an ultralight silver lurex and then transitioned into more complex ensembles like laser-cut leather fringed dresses and sequined jumpsuits.
6 | Rebecca Minkoff
Rebecca Minkoff sures knows how to give winter coats a whole new meaning. Inspired by the Rolling Stones’ 1978 U.S Tour, Minkoff’s Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear Collection explores a combination of rocker and bohemian influences. My favorite pieces from the collection was her unique outerwear including the pink fur-lined parka (pictured in the middle), the colorful-patched fur jacket (pictured on the left), and the pink/blue boxy fur jacket (pictured on the right). And best of all, Minkoff is still sticking with the “see now, buy now” movement which I first experienced during her Spring 17′ show in LA! So luckily the full collection is available to shop now! ;)
So many amazing collections over the past week!! Which ones were your favourite?!
Hope you loves have an amazing weekend. See you back here on Monday :)
