Goodmorning my lovelies!! It’s been a long time coming, but today I’m SO excited to finally reveal Alessandra’s beautiful nursery with all of you! We partnered with the amazingly talented Naomi of Little Crown Interiors to create this stunning, dreamy, and stylish room for Alessandra. Naomi was able to really transform this room into a sweet sanctuary for Alessandra. A space where her personality shines through! I couldn’t be happier with how everything came together, it’s seriously my favorite room in the house! During our first meeting with Naomi, I gave her a list of some items and ideas that were important for me to have in the room and she took it from there!! Walking into the nursery with Ále feels so refreshing and really brightens up my day! It’s such a warm, cozy, and timeless space that can easily grow with her for years to come. It’s where we sit and read her favorite books in her reading nook, play on the rug, and cuddle up on the rocking chair before bedtime. Not only did Naomi design a stunning space, but she created a room that is functional and ensures longevity. For my mama’s out there, you know how important it is to have a high functional, well-organized nursery that makes your life easier on a daily basis. From the black out curtains, to the removable putty that holds everything in place, and having an unobstructed view of Alessandra at all times..this room is as functional as it is adorable!
As many of you know, G and I moved into our new home about 6 months ago. When we first found out we were expecting, we were renting an apartment with the intention of moving in the next year, so we knew the nursery was just going to be temporary. We had already started house-hunting and were so busy with trying to find the perfect home so although I had so many ideas for Ale’s nursery, I knew I had to wait until we found our home. Settling into our first home made it that much more special to create a space that she would be growing up in and making memories. For those of you who have been following along on all our home renovations since the beginning, you know I love a good white, clean and modern design. For Ále’s nursery, I knew I wanted to experiment with some color and really have her fun personality shine through. I love how Naomi used color throughout the room. She maintained a white and neutral color palette amongst the bigger furniture pieces, and incorporated small pops of sage green, pink, mauve and gold accents to make the space feel more playful, warm and stylish. It has a great balance of cute, playful elements while still feeling a little grown up.
First things first. My absolute favorite part of this room is the wallpaper! This was my first time playing around with wallpaper and when Naomi first showed me this, I instantly fell in love with it!! A part of me always thought that wallpaper could look a little too childish or get too overwhelming as the years go by. But this blush floral mural from Anewall feels so fresh and modern, yet still embodies the fun elements that wallpaper should have. As bold as it looks, it really doesn’t overwhelm the room in any way and compliments all the furniture perfectly. As soon as you walk in, it really sets the tone for the rest of the room.
Now for the crib! One of the things I knew I wanted for this room was an acrylic crib! I love the look and feel of having acrylic elements in the crib because it opens up the room and compliments the wallpaper perfectly. Most importantly, I can see everything Alessandra is doing when she’s in her crib! A big bonus for new moms, especially in the first year. Now I can’t imagine going back to a crib that doesn’t have clear panels! Another great thing about this 3-in-1 crib by Babyletto is that it converts to a toddler and daybed so you don’t need to worry about buying a new crib as your baby grows. For the bedding, we used this floral fitted sheet by Joss & Main which ties in beautifully with the wallpaper and all the other sage green and pink elements in the room.
And can we talk about this STUNNING chandelier from Joss & Main?! What a statement! This room has really high ceilings so a statement hanging chandelier was the perfect accent piece to tie in the entire room. It really gives the whole space that wow factor right when you walk in! This cow hide area rug is also really modern and the rich texture creates a really beautiful contrast against all the furniture pieces.
When I first started envisioning Alessandra’s nursery, I knew I wanted a cute cozy reading nook for our little bookworm ;) G and I love have loved reading to Ále from day one! I love all the combination of pillows with the sherpa rug and fig leaf plant in this corner, they add so much warmth and coziness to this room. It’s become one of my favorite spots in the nursery. If you guys watch my stories, you know how much Ále loves her floor time! She loves sitting and playing in this little nook and she’s become very drawn to it over the past few months!
I love the pillow combination Naomi put together layered with this gorgeous faux sheepskin rug from her shop! And how cute is the floral burlap pillow and pink heart shaped pillow?! Ále loves rolling around in the pillows during her playtime!
I love this custom dresser from Newport Cottages. I really wanted a clean modern dresser with delicate details and gold accents, something that can be used through Alessandra’s babyhood to her toddler years. Newport Cottages customized this Ricki dresser with the gold circular pulls to match the rest of the nursery hardware and it turned out stunning! The drawers are really spacious and fit all of Ale’s clothes, diapers, and blankets! All of their furniture is individually built from domestic hardwoods and includes non-toxic finishes which is ideal for nurseries.
If you guys watch my IG stories, you know how much Ále LOVES looking at herself in the mirror haha! This mirror above the changing table couldn’t be more perfect because it keeps her distracted while we’re changing her!
Now for the most comfortable piece of furniture in the room..the glider aka our happy place!! After a long work day, there’s nothing that I love more than coming to this corner in her nursery and having some mommy daughter cuddle time before bedtime. Having a comfortable glider in the nursery is so important because you will be spending a lot of time in it throughout the years. And can we talk about this velvet ottoman?! Love the pop of color and combination of velvet and faux fur in this corner. Plus the acrylic legs match perfectly with the crib!
The bunny above the glider is Ale’s favorite! She says hi and bye to the bunny everyday and it’s the cutest thing!!
One of my main concerns from the beginning was lighting. This room has two large windows and gets tons of natural light which interfere’s with Alessandra’s nap times during the day. Naomi was able to source these velvet black out curtains from Joss & Main that are still very soft and subtle, but keep out all the light so she can finally nap in peace!
This wall is my favorite personal touch to the room. I’m obsessed with all the little cute decor items on this bookcase from Joss & Main! I love how Naomi added personal elements onto each shelf like framing our favorite photos of Ále and adding the shoes and floral headpiece she wore on our wedding day! It makes her feel more loved in this space and reminds her of our best memories as a family. All the decor accents are so chic from the sheep bookends, decorative boxes, and ceramic horse.
Love this gold bird decor set above her closet!!
And there you have it!! A special thank you to our amazing interior designer Naomi of Little Crown Interiors who designed this beautiful space that we will cherish for years to come!! We had so much fun working on this project and I can’t wait to share more special moments in this nursery with all of you.
What do you guys think about Ále’s nursery?! Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! Feel free to ask any questions you have on the furniture items and decor and I will do my best to answer!
Love always, Jessi ♥
