Jessi Malay wearing Misa

Happy Monday babes!! Hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend :) If you guys followed along on my IG this past weekend, I decided to start a new lil series on the blog during the summer months! Every Friday we’re gonna take a break from our busy day to explore a new area of LA and fill you guys in on all the trending spots from coffee shops, restaurants, architecture and hidden gems! This past Friday we decided to explore the Los Feliz area! This neighborhood is very special to me because I grew up here for the first 7 years of my life and have nothing but amazing memories :) To me it’s one of the most unique areas in LA..it’s homey, yet elegant and has so many hidden gems from architecture to hipster cafe’s and restaurants that you won’t want to miss out on! So come along on our adventure day in Los Feliz and see what we loved the most!

Dinosaur Coffee

Everything here from the ambiance to the little details of the dinosaur themed decor is too good..and very Insta-worthy! Can you guys tell?! Other than the amazing design and decor, this place offers some of the best artisan brews in town.

If you guys missed it on my IG stories..we had the BEST strawberry croissant here..possibly the best croissant I’ve ever tried in my life!! Paired with a Cortado and Hot Chocolate ..perfection!! Oh and not to mention..the natural light in here is on point ;) #nofilter necessary.

Barnsdall Art Park

The perfect sanctuary to come, relax, and enjoy the views and sunset after a busy day. This park sits on top of Olive Hill near Hollywood Blvd and Vermont and offers some of the most amazing views of the city and the Hollywood Sign! And if you go deeper into the park, you’ll find the famous Hollyhock House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. If you have an extra hour to spare, I would definitely recommend taking a tour of the house!

I’m wearing my new favorite summer shorts by Misa..love the ruffled hem and oversized bow on these babies! To finish off the look, I threw on my satin robe coat by Aritzia (they just opened a store here in LA!!). I’m also loving robe coats like this for summer because their so light and airy for the hot weather, but  perfect to throw on when you want to dress up a more casual outfit :)

Loving my new Schutz x Revolve platforms!! The lace-up detailing and braided trim is so perfect for summer…and the platform on these is so comfy, yet chic enough to dress up or down!

Messhall Kitchen

After visiting the park, we took a lunch break and stopped by one of the neighborhood’s best known restaurants, Messhall Kitchen. I loved the vibe here..very sleek, yet cozy with wooden finishes, communal tables, and exposed brick walls. My favorite part was the gorgeous outdoor dining patio and enjoying our whole meal by the fireplace (couldn’t get cozier than that!). The ambiance reminded me of being in a large dining hall back in my camp days..but with a more upscale touch. The menu was also a bit reminiscent of those camping days with classics like pork belly mac & cheese, the mess burger, braised short ribs..all with twists of their own.

We started off with the Cali Salad served with refreshing strawberries and avocado..my two favorite additions to any salad!

Next we had the Shortrib Sando and Campfire Benny which complimented each other perfectly! The Shortrib Sando is definitely one of their best dishes..braised short ribs, swiss cheese, all on a fluffy brioche with steak sauce for extra flavor…so delicious!!

Dessert had to be the best part of our meal..Chocolate Terrine and Bread Pudding. The chocolate terrine seriously tasted like campfire topped with smoked ice cream and toasted fluff.. amazing!!

Messhall Kitchen..we’ll be back very soon! Make sure to check out their their website and hope you stop in and enjoy as much as I did!

Outfit change!! Loving this flirty romper by House of Harlow (now on major sale!!)

My new summer uniform!! How cute is this gingham set by Misa?! I’m obsessing over this print for summer and will definitely be mix n’ matching these pieces on repeat!

Our last stop of the day…more dessert?! We were on a bit of a dessert binge on this day haha..but couldn’t go home without trying these churro ice cream sandwiches! We stopped into Churro Borough to try some of their churro specialities from made to order ice cream sandwiches and churro dipping sticks..YUM!

I got the churro sandwich with strawberry buttermilk ice cream..yes and yes!!

Hope you guys enjoyed my guide on Los Feliz!! How are you liking this new blog series?? Would love to hear your input and thoughts! Which neighborhood should we explore next?! Leave your comments below :)

Xxo, Jessi
