Happy Friday my loves!! Gabriel and I decided to pack our weekend bags and have a mini babymoon! These past few months of my pregnancy have been so busy, between shooting jobs, planning my baby shower, designing my nursery, and finding a new home for the three of us! I’ve really been trying to slow down and take some time to rest, so G and I finally decided to take a much-needed staycation. Since I can’t travel anywhere at this point in my pregnancy, I wanted to choose a location that was close-by and convenient so I can feel safe and relaxed. A place where my hubby and I can enjoy our special time together and create memories before our baby girl is born.
We decided to stay at the newly built InterContinental hotel in the heart of Downtown LA, one of the many hotels of IHG’s family of brands. IHG is one of the largest luxury hotel brands and is recognized for their iconic skyscrapers, dreamy resorts, and historical landmarks all over the world. The newly built Intercontinental is the living definition of luxury at it’s finest. Every suite, restaurant and amenity of the hotel captures high-end design and five-star services for a memorable experience that you won’t want to miss!
As soon as we entered the InterContinental, we were directed to the 70th floor to check-in to our room while experiencing the first of many breathtaking views the hotel has to offer. As we stepped into our room, the first thing that caught my eye was the open and inviting atmosphere, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows offering an unobstructed view of the skyline, mountains and Pacific ocean. Aside from it’s panoramic city views, the hotel offers several trendy restaurants, sophisticated suites, a 73rd story skybar, and tons of lounge areas with food, drinks, and cabanas. The interior decor is next level; sleek, sophisticated, and modern with unique features like spiral staircases and light sculptures reflecting L.A’s famous freeways. My favorite decor feature has to be the lobby bar that has rose gold bar chairs and beautiful marble features for some very Insta-worthy moments!

One of the biggest perks to staying at the InterContinental is that we barely have to leave the hotel for food! On the sky deck, you’ll find Spire 73, an open-air bar and lounge with views of LA that you can’t find anywhere else. Two floors below, there’s La Boucherie on 71, a high end French steakhouse that specializes in steaks, fresh seafood, charcuterie and a list of 1200 wines to compliment your dinner. If you want more casual dining, you can go one more floor down to their Lobby Lounge for a variety of coffee, pastries, salads, sandwiches, and cocktails towards the evening. This luxurious lounge offers a chic and comfortable ambiance ideal for pre-dinner drinks and light appetizers. I love that the hotel provides the perfect balance between work, relaxation and play. You can spend the day lounging by the seventh floor pool surrounded by comfy cabanas and lounge chairs, and get dressed up for an evening out at one of the hotel’s upscale restaurants. Although we live a short drive from downtown, staying at the hotel feels very futuristic and away from the city even though we’re in the heart of it all.
During the past few years, Downtown LA has undergone a dramatic development and exploded with tons of new trendy restaurants, shopping areas, entertainment and amazing rooftops with even better views. The InterContinental has been one of those major developments part of IHG’s family of brands, now known as the tallest tower on the West Coast! The hotel is in a prime location, just blocks away from L.A. Live, the Staples Center, and Disney Concert Hall. And can we talk about the architecture? Not only is this the tallest skyscraper in LA, but the building is equipped with colorful LED lights and digital billboards to light up the skyline at night. It’s almost like our own mini Times Square!
