Good morning my loves!! Hope you’re off to a good week! Winter is almost here which means cozy weather, gingerbread lattes, layering, and most importantly, new makeup! Fall and winter usually call for dark, smoky shadows and bold lipsticks, while summer and spring are associated with soft, neutral tones. This year, it’s all about looks that create a seasonal transition, and feel refreshing and reminiscent of spring and summer! I’m so excited to be partnering with one of my all time favorite brands, Dolce & Gabbana, and Saks Fifth Avenue to show off their new makeup collection and how you can work fresh, unexpected colors into your makeup routine this fall and winter!

This look is equal parts lips and eyes! The Fall In Bloom Eyeshadow palette features four gorgeous shades inspired by the Italian street market and all the fresh blooms that fill the air! This limited edition palette is an update on the classic burgundy trend for winter and combines contrasting pastels like lilac, nude and light blue hues that can help you create a beautiful wide eyed effect and will give your eyes an unexpected pop of color! It’s not your typical color palette for the season, but that’s what I love about it! For those of you who follow my blog regularly, you know I usually opt for very bronzy rose tones, so I’m really excited this season to be stepping out of my beauty comfort zone and add some much-needed color into my makeup routine!

To achieve this look, I used the Eyeshadow Quad in Fall in Bloom 1963, applying the lightest nude color all over my lids and brow bone to create an even base. Next, I applied a bit of the lilac shade in the center of my eyelids, blending out toward my crease. Then, I added a bit of the darkest matte shade into the crease with a heavier emphasis on the outer corners, below the lower lash line, and blended outwards. To complete the eyes, I applied the shimmery light blue shade to the inner corners and water line, highlighting my tear ducts to give my eyes a nice pop! I finished off the look by adding a few coats of the Volumized Mascara in Black 1. What I love about this particular mascara is that it adds the perfect amount of drama and length to your lashes while keeping them silky and separated.

Now let’s talk lips :) I love a good statement lip for fall/winter! I started by lining my lips and making sure that the liner was precise and even. With any bold colored lipstick, it’s really important to line your lips as precisely as possible. Next I filled them in with the Dolce Matte Lipstick in Inferno 333 which is a gorgeous dark burgundy plum color, perfect for the season. There’s something about the shimmery pastels on the eyes, coupled with the darker tone of the lip that makes this look feel more elegant and feminine, rather than dark and vampy! What I love about these lipsticks is the fact that they are matte, but still moisturizing! My lips tend to get dry easily, so finding matte lipsticks that go on smoothly is so important to me!

And now for the glow! To give my face some added dimension and my skin a natural, lit from within effect, I applied the Creamy Illuminator in Rosa Del Mattino 60 to my cheekbones, cupids bow, under my brows and down the bridge of my nose. This illuminator is super lightweight, smooth and easy to apply, and sheer so your skin still looks natural and effortless! With the focal points really being the lips and eyes, you don’t want to overdo it with an overly pigmented highlighter, so this buildable illuminator is ideal!

To finish off the look, I used the Nail Laquer in Light Bloom 719 which is a pretty pale blue hue! Since my makeup already features bold tones on the eyes and lips, I thought the light blue nails would be the perfect juxtaposition and tie the eyeshadow colors together nicely. I love the idea of wearing pretty pastels on my nails into the cooler months of the year because it instantly brightens my mood and feels so much more refreshing!

Lastly, can we talk about this packaging?! When I saw the collection at Saks, it was love at first sight! You guys know I’m a sucker for gold when it comes to anything beauty related! Not only do these products feel and look amazing on my skin, but the packaging is so luxurious and elegant…perfect to display in my beauty room!

As always, thank you so much for taking the time to come visit the blog and read the post! A huge thank you to Saks Fifth Avenue and Shopstyle for partnerning with me on this look!

XO, Jessi
